Richard Carr James Hardie FRC Pipes Two significant current issues for small diameter concrete pipes are asset ownership and the effects of construction loads. Investigations by leading local authorities and the increased use of camera inspection techniques have revealed that construction loads are causing unacceptable cracking in small diameter (less than 900mm) steel reinforced concrete pipes. This cracking has the potential to significantly shorten the service life of these pipes.
